Die Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK ist die Outdoor GPS-Uhr für Sport und Abenteurer. Gegenüber der Suunto Ambit 2 mit erweiterten Outdoor- und Multisport-Funktionen

Die Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK ist das weiter verbesserte Nachfolgemodell der Ambit 2. Optisch ist die Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK vom Vorgänger kaum zu unterscheiden. Gleiches gilt auch für die Bedienung, die in Anbetracht der vielen Funktionen äußerst intuitiv gestaltet ist.
Neu hingegen ist die Tatsache, dass die Herzfrequenzmessung mit der Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK auch beim Schwimmen möglich ist. Damit ist die Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK eine der ersten Sportuhren, die das ermöglicht. Möglich macht es der neue Suunto Brustgurt Smart Sensor, der über einen eigenen Datenspeicher verfügt. Auf ihn werden die Schwimmdaten wie die Herzfrequenz solange gespeichert bis der Trainierende aus dem Wasser steigt. Erst dann werden die Daten via Bluetooth Smart (statt ehemals ANT+) vom Brustgurt auf die Uhr übertragen.

Dank Bluetooth Smart-Technologie und der Suunto Movescount-App kann die Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK jetzt auch mit Smartphones kommunizieren (iOS: iPhone ab 4S, iPad mini, iPad ab 3. Generation und iPod Touch ab 5. Generation; Android: Herstellerseitig in Planung). Mit der App können die neuesten Leistungen beim Laufen, Radfahren oder anderen sportlichen Aktivitäten bequem und problemlos aufgezeichnet sowie mit anderen geteilt werden. Des Weiteren werden Anrufe, SMS und Push-Benachrichtigungen sofort auf der Suunto Ambit 3 angezeigt. Das Training muss also nicht unterbrochen werden, um zu sehen wer anruft.

Erweiterte Ausstattungsmerkmale der PEAK-Variante gegenüber der Suunto Ambit 3 SPORT

Als PEAK-Variante kommt die Suunto Ambit 3 gegenüber der SPORT-Version mit erweiterten Outdoor-Funktionen daher. Die Suunto AMBIT 3 PEAK liefert Barometerdaten, ist mit einem Höhenmesser mit FusedAltiTM, Sturmwarnung, den Zeiten von Sonnenaufgang und -untergang ausgestattet und hat bei GPS-Nutzung eine Batterienutzungsdauer von bis zu 50 Stunden (Ambit 3 SPORT: 25 Stunden).

Erhältlich ist die Suunto Ambit 3 PEAK sowohl ohne als auch mit Suunto Smart Sensor Brustgurt (HR-Variante). Die hochwertigste Form der Suunto Ambit 3 PEAK ist das Modell mit Saphirkristallglas. Saphirkristallglas gilt als das zweithärteste Mineral der Welt und ist noch widerstandsfähiger gegen Kratzer als das ansonsten bei den Ambit-Modellen verwendete Mineralkrisatllglas.
