The Tacx Real Life DVD Alpine Classic 2007 - France offers a demanding tour with unforgettable views over the Alps, breathtaking slopes and steep ascents.
This challenging, 89 km course of the Tacx Real Life DVD Alpine Classic 2007 - France starts some kilometers away from the village St Michel de Maurienne, which is situated at the bottom of the wooded ascent to the Col du Télégraphe. After a short slope to the ski area VALLOIR, you start the ascent to the COL DU GALIBIER - after having passed the centre of the village. Right at the beginning, you are confronted with a hard part - but as soon as you have left the place of refreshment of the cycle event "Marmotte", it becomes easier. It takes only a short time and the street becomes steeper. You will pass a surprisingly wild landscape. Finally, you will reach the notorious hairpin bends at PLAN LACHAT. At this point, the tour becomes harder. The combination of height and steepness of the street result in a reduction of the speed. Near the pass of the Galibier, the tour becomes more spectacular as soon as the dark rocks, the scorching sun, and the blue air carry you along in the Tacx Real Life DVD Alpine Classic 2007 - France.
After having arrived at the pass height and having been cheered on by the audience in 2465 m height, you throw yourself into the fantastic slope which leads you to the COL DU LAUTARET (2000m). You pass a glacier near La Meije Pass (3,983m), through the village La Grave, through tunnels and along the dam of the Lac du Chambon. You arrive at the bottom of the LAUTARET near Les Clapier. Now you are on the plain and straight street in the direction towards the village Bourg-d Oisans. Shortly before you enter the town, you turn right and, after 50 m, you arrive at the official start of the ascent to L' ALPE D' HUEZ. This ascent has long, difficult parts. It is caracteriezd by gradients up to 10% and innumerable hairpin bends. The finish is in the village l'Alpe d'Huez at the finish line of the Tour de France and of the Marmotte.
