Power-Plate is the best market leader regarding studio-vibration plates / vibration equipment.
Originally, the training with vibration plates has been developed by the Russian space travels for astronauts of the space station MIR in the 1970s. The aim has been to counteract against the extreme muscular athropy and the strong reduction of the bone density which results from the longer stay in space.
Guus van der Meer, a Dutch Olympic trainer, developed a distinctively improved version of a vibration plate in 1998, which is designed for the whole body regarding its construction.
