Each Concept2 Indoor Rower is made of more than 30 years of experience in rowing !

The founders of the company Concept2, former rower pros and participants of Olympic Games in Munich, Peter and Dick Dreissigacker, had made it their business to optimize the material of their rowing machines: They were the first who used carbone instead of wood for belts and skulls for their rowing machines.

In 1981, they constructed the Concept2 Indoor Rower, the first rowing machine made by athletes for athletes. Their requirement on their own invention was clear: the rowing machine had to correspond to their demands as rower pros. This demand has remained until today. The Indoor Rower can be found in most rower clubs and Olympia bases as well as in a lot of gyms, rehabilitation centres, hotels, and for private customers who wish to stay in shape with Concept2 Indoor Rowers.
