The Bowflex Xtreme SE is a compact multi gym which allows for a great variety of exercises. Thus, for example, one can train the shoulder and back muscles effectively at the integrated lat tower. The also integrated leg curl and the lower pulley/squat station serve the strengthening of the leg muscles. The Bowflex Xtreme SE does without weight stacks; however provides maximum resistance due to its patented resistance system. The resistance can be varied easily just by connecting as many bars as desired.
The resistance bars facilitate dynamic musle tensions (concentric or eccentric). In the process, the resistance progressively goes up from 60% at the beginning of the exercise to 100% at full tension, so that the muscle does not get used to the same load and keeps growing. The Bowflex Xtreme SE's lack of weight stacks considerably reduces the risk of injury.
